Curriculum Vitae

My research journey began in Dr. King-Wai Yau's lab with the biophysics of phototransduction, the first step of vision. This passion in sensory signaling led me to study spinal cord injury response with Dr. David Julius. I believe science should be curiosity-driven and collaborative.

I was an attending surgeon before, with a deep passion for basic science, stemming from my doctoral work on neuronal injuries. I'm curious about the mechanisms of cell signaling within brain regions surrounding the ventricles. I'm excited to contribute to scientific discovery through collaboration and innovation.

I’m from Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Biomedical Science. I conducted research at OSU and the University of Washington in the labs of Dr. Jason Wester and Dr. John Tuthill on better characterizing neuronal cell types and their connectivity using transcriptomic and electron microscopy datasets. I’m interested in applying approaches in molecular and systems neuroscience to improve the understanding of neurological disorders like migraines. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and supporting science outreach.
